1946 Custom Heine Dole Pilothouse Cutter

Bainbridge Island, Washington

$124,000

"Katie Ford" was designed and built by Heine Dole in Astoria, Oregon in 1946, and has long graced the waters of the Pacific Northwest with her stunning lines and excellent sailing characteristics.

Her pilothouse, with inside steering station, affords excellent visibility with her distinctive vertical windows, while her second wheel at the aft end of the cockpit makes her a true 'pilot-house sailing yacht'.

A fixture on the classic boat circuit, winning Best in Show in her class in the 2002 Victoria Classic Boat Festival, she has benefitted from an outstanding level of care and maintenance by her current owners (retired shipwrights) as well as by her previous stewards.

A 2014 refit included the installation of a new diesel engine, rebuilding the hull below the waterline, refinishing the cockpit coamings and doghouse, and systems upgrades including through hulls, electronics, circuit breakers and head replacement and replumbing. In 2009, the cabin top was replaced including removal of all fittings and dorade vents, which were also replaced.

Her current and prior owners have continued to maintain "Katie Ford" to an excellent standard, ensuring she remains ready to be enjoyed by her next owners for many years to come.
